When Dreams Become Reality…

Last month I attended Carbon Copy Pro’s seventh PRO Master Marketing Event in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Arizona Grand Resort was the perfect setting for such an event – spacious enough for privacy if one needed it and intimate enough for some powerhouse networking or simple gatherings of friends and fellow marketers alike.

The day before was my birthday and my mentor and close friend Lena and her husband Sam, arranged a road-trip for her team and mine to visit the spectacular Grand Canyon.

Two van loads of Pro’s top marketers masterminded their way to one of America’s most
beautiful locations.

The trip seemed to fly by as we exchanged strategies and poked fun at each other on our way to the canyon.

No amount of pictures of video can prepare you for the spectacular view at the Grand Canyon. It literally took my breath away.

Grand-Canyon-View

Breath taking view!

What followed was a fun surprise – Lena had stashed 2 beautiful birthday cakes, one for me and one for fellow marketer Ida Berg, who shares the same birthday.

Lena even had party hats, plates, and pink tiaras for the birthday girls. What a day!

Birthday Girls at the Canyon :)

Our team assembled for the conference at the hotel early the next morning and took seats at the front. Many of our newest team members sat with eager anticipation as the Vice President of PR Leadership Mr. John Jackson took to the stage and got the ball rolling on what has become known as the BEST Pro Master Marketing event in history.

The marketing training was exceptional as one by one the company’s longest standing top performers opened their play books as it were and revealed their top online marketing strategies to a room full of marketers from around the world.

These marketers, among the very best in the world each presented the newest cutting edge strategies for generating volume traffic online. They covered lead generation at length but also defined the importance of converting that traffic to high ticket back end sales and the importance of calculating one’s return on investment and running a profitable online business.

The training was a game changer for all the marketers in attendance! I sat watching with one of my business partners, Helene Thituson and co-founder of iPROsynergy ( a marketing team we founded in December 2010) .

Although some of our members were unable to attend due to prior commitments, Helene and I were watching as Jay Kubassek, CEO and Founder of Carbon Copy Pro announced that he had 3 Master Marketing Awards to hand out.

What we didn’t realize at that moment was that iPROsynergy were about to be the recipients of one of the prestigious awards!! This was an exhilarating moment!! The success that had once been a belief now acted on and visualized had become a reality.

Master Marketing Award :)

Previously, after attending my first Master Marketing event and seeing marketers receive awards, I had an inner determination that one day soon I too would be in their place. Now in iPROsynergy’s 6th month operating as a team here we were! And the best part about it is that we had so many of our team there with us at the event.

After returning home to Jamaica in the last week of May, a few days later Mr. John Jackson, (affectionately known as “JJ”) the VP of Leadership, phoned to announce that I had been selected as Pro’s Spotlight Member of the Month for June 2011. I was speechless – what a month May had been, and now this! Here is a link to my story on the CCPro website.

As June comes to a close ( I can hardly belief that it has been a month already) I thought I’d share this with you.

How To Distinguish Between a Legitimate Network Marketing Business and a Pyramid Scheme.

I have discovered whilst managing a team of international online marketers, that there exists a great confusion surrounding the differences between a legitimate network marketing business
and pyramid schemes.

Several people automatically have a negative feeling when they hear the words, “multi level marketing” or down line. They often assume that these words refer to a pyramid, or that the opportunity that they are connected with must be a scam. However, this is simply just not true!

If you are in a network marketing business, then I am pretty sure that you have been asked at some stage, “Is this a pyramid?”

Generally speaking, the initial concern is brought about when your prospect sees the compensation
plan, which clearly resembles a pyramid.

See Diagram below:

Now clearly, we all are aware that the “shape” of a business model on paper can not dictate that the business is illegal! What people should be more concerned about, however is the way in which the business is constructed. For example:

Pyramid Scheme:

A pyramid scheme is defined as a fraudulent money making activity based on a non-sustainable business model. Money is exchanged for a recruitment fee and no product or services are involved. Eventually the number of recruits diminishes and the payment structure collapses. Basically the pyramid schemes concentrate on the money people earn by recruiting and the marketing of products and services are ignored.

Network Marketing: Legitimate, legal Business Model:

The concept behind network marketing is a business model that enables direct selling
of products and services to a customer. Network marketing companies are geared to reward distributors
through commissions on such sales.

In a legitimate network marketing compensation plan, distributors earn by selling products and services and can also make a residual income from people that join the company.

The difference here is that in the instance of a legitimate network marketing business, any commissions made by recruiting new members is a result of the product sold in the start up package and NOT the recruiting itself. These companies have comprehensive training available for their distributors in order to equip them to generate sales.

I have tried to keep this explanation simple. There are what appear to be subtle differences but in actual fact these are vast differences! Many people miss out on genuine opportunities because of this grave misunderstanding.

No Excuses Summit Rocked! Just Back From Vegas :)

Just got back to Jamaica from a fast paced Vegas weekend! Surrounded by top earning internet marketers and gurus alike I soaked up the training as usual but particularly enjoyed meeting and brainstorming with the best of the best!!

A picture is worth a thousand words so thought I’d share a few with you here :

Jonathan Budd's Presentation was a treat!

As usual, Jonathan Budd gave a ton of value in his presentation as he offered his recommendations as to the TOP 5 methods of generating traffic in today’s internet scenario!! I will do a post outlining the steps soon :)

Mike Dillard Magnetic Sponsoring Genius

Mike Dillard my upline and one of the catalysts of my success!!!

Mike fielded questions from the audience and gave brilliant insight in a wide range of subject areas. He is such a man of humility for one who has achieved greatness at such a young age! Thank you Mike for being an inspiration to us all!!!

Masterminding with Jim Yaghi

Jim Yaghi and David Scwhinds recent e-book "The Google Switch" a MUST read!

I have always paid attention when Jim has something to say! He has shed so much light on getting into the mind of the searcher and simplifies the whole Google PPC experience with his matter of fact approach. True genius and a pleasure to finally meet you face to face Jim!!

David Schwind in Vegas!

David Schwind my upline and Copywriting Genius...knows how to have fun whilst making a presentation!

David Schwind and Jim Yaghi certainly surprised the crowd with their unorthodox presentation, as David poured the scotch while discussing the 4 easy parts to paid traffic! Philosophy, Targeting, Profits and “Leveraged Efforts”.

So when the training was over the bright lights and Las Vegas Boulevard, the city that “never sleeps” was just a few steps away…drive with me down Las Vegas Blvd :)

Internet Marketing Training: Stay Current.

As I embarked on my journey as an online entrepreneur, I had no idea the wealth of information that would unfurl.

I took it in stride, opening email after email offering course after course.

The inevitable “information overload” that has now become a catch phrase in the industry, would take it’s hold.

I warded off panic as the numerous topics were unveiled.

Then I took a decision. I was going to master this, no matter what!

I was very fortunate in two ways. One, I found a mentor who was willing, not to spoon feed me but to empower
me and guide me in the right direction. Secondly, I attached myself to an internet marketing training platform
akin to NO OTHER! http://MLMFinalSolution.com

I then ploughed in head first and covered topic after topic, putting together all the intricate pieces of the
puzzle we know as internet marketing.
I survived the Google slap, suspension, disable debacle and emersed myself in studies on how to prevent and
overcome this and other new developments in the industry.

The result is that I now manage a team of over 500 internet marketers. I do consultation for offline businesses
teaching them how to market their business online.

I hold internet marketing seminars, empowering others to achieve their dreams through online marketing, and last but definitely not least, I do direct sales online earning more in commission from one sale than I used to make in months!

I say all of this not to boast, but to ENCOURAGE!

You too can wade through all the information, increase your value to others and meet with massive success.

Hold fast to your dreams and NEVER become complacent. The internet is a dynamic realm. What worked three months
ago, may not work today.

Stay connected, stay current and never stop learning!

4 Steps That Lead To The Habit Of Persistence

To recap a previous article, I will outline the eight factors of persistence.

Examine yourself to see if you are found lacking in any of these factors.

1)      Definiteness of purpose.

2)      Desire to achieve your goals.

3)      Self reliance and belief in your ability.

4)      Definiteness of plans.

5)      Accurate knowledge that your plan is sound.

6)      Cooperation and understanding with a mastermind group.

7)      Will power – focusing on attaining a definite purpose.

8)      Habit – Persistence is the direct result of habit.

Take a close look at each of these, and ask yourself honestly, “Which of these areas am I weakest in?”

Whatever these weaknesses are, they will have to be mastered in order that you can accumulate massive wealth.

Fortunately for us, there is a way to develop the habit of persistence!

There are in fact 4 simple steps that will help us to achieve this:

1)      A definite purpose, driven by a desire to achieve.

2)      A definite plan to attain this purpose, expressed in daily steps towards your goals.

3)      A positive attitude that ignores and dissuades any negative input from friends, relatives and associates.

4)      A person, or group of people with whom you form an alliance, that will encourage you to achieve your planned purpose.

These steps apply to every area of our lives. The outcome of adhering to these steps is guaranteed success.

I often reflect on the well known adage that every billionaire just tried one more time.

Failure is a part of life. Not everyone is successful at the first thing they put their hands to. The truly successful entrepreneur persists until they succeed! Never give up…

Set your eyes on your goals and make steady consistent, persistent steps towards them until you get the victory!

Persistence: 8 Steps Towards Sustained Effort: Essential in Creating Wealth

Persistence is absolutely essential in transforming a desire for wealth (or any desire) into reality. At the root of persistence is our will power. When we combine our will with our desire, there is no stopping us!

Persistence means NEVER letting go of your vision. When all manner of eventualities that would normally dissuade you, rather, deepen your resolve.

The catalyst for achieving success is desire. If you find yourself lacking in persistence (one of the major causes of failure), then add some wood to the fire of your desires.

If you are still weak in this area, work with your mastermind group and through cooperative efforts of the members, you can develop persistence.

The competitive nature of human beings is very real, and if we are willing to admit it, we all have days when we could use a little encouragement from a friend or a colleague.

Surround yourself with people who believe in your dream.

Spasmodic efforts towards your goals will be of no use to you. You MUST be consistent!

Do you focus on living in poverty (worrying about the monthly bills), or on living the life of your dreams. Poverty is attracted to the person who focuses on it. Money on the other hand is attracted to those whose minds have been deliberately prepared to attract it!

The salient point here is that a poverty consciousness develops all on its own, whereas a money consciousness must be created to order in the event that an individual was not born with it.

“Without persistence, you will be defeated, even before you start. With persistence you will win.” Napoleon Hill

Make a conscious decision to snap out of your inconsistency, climb over your failures and train yourself to be persistent.

In a nutshell, there are 8 things that you can do to ensure that you stay on track:

1) Definiteness of Purpose: Know what you want to achieve.

2) Desire: If you have an intense desire, persistence will come easily.

3) Self-reliance: Believe in yourself.

4) Definiteness of Plans: Have a written and well organized plan, a map to follow.

5) Accurate Knowledge: Equip yourself to be confident that the steps that you have laid out are indeed the RIGHT steps.

6) Cooperation: Sympathy and understanding of others helps you to develop persistence.

7) Will-Power: Concentrate your thoughts on building your plan. This WILL develop persistence.
8) Habit: Persistence comes as a result of habit. Fear for example can be dispelled by repeated acts of courage.

Think about this as it pertains to you. How do you “rate” on a persistency scale? A following article will offer guidelines as to how to assess this most critical element of our character.

The 28 Major Causes Of Failure: How Many Of These Stand Between You And Your Success?

Food for thought! 28 reasons for failure. Are you guilty of or captured by any of these?

1)      The hardest one to overcome: Lack of intelligence and business acumen. The way to overcome this is by networking and masterminding with others.

2)      Having no purpose or definite goal. 98% of people surprisingly, fall in to this category.

3)      Lack of ambition. This is demonstrated by indifference. One is not willing to go the extra mile to achieve success.

4)      Lack of relevant education. This is fairly easy to overcome. The best education is one that is “self-made”, for example, one that is tailored to suit your chosen path or profession.

5)      Lack of self-discipline or self control. Rid yourself of negativity. Once you learn the art of controlling yourself, you will then be better able to control your circumstances.

6)      Ill health: Sometimes due to over eating, negative thinking and unnecessary worry, lack of exercise, fresh air and yes, unfortunate lot or heredity.

7)      Negative impact of your childhood environment. Wrong words spoken over you as a child that you may have sub-consciously accepted. Wrong friends and a bad environment during your youth.

8)      Procrastination: A very common cause of failure. Do not wait for the perfect timing. Just do it!

9)      Lack of persistence. It is one thing to start a project or a new business, but quite another to see it through to successful fruition. “Failure cannot cope with persistence”

10)  Negative attitude. If you exude negativity, you will repel others.

11)  A “something for nothing” mindset. This is what drives the gambler. A real business requires time, resources and effort.

12)  Lack of decision making skills. Make quick accurate decisions and see them through.

13)  Fear: Be positive and fear not!

14)  Wrong partner in marriage. Ouch! If you are not in harmony with your mate and in agreement sharing common goals, this can bring unhappiness. This does not foster success. This is NOT to say, change your partner, but rather, try and work things out in a mutually amicable way.

15)  Overly cautious. Entrepreneurs take calculated risks. To be totally lacking in caution can be harmful as well, so it is important to attain the right balance.

16)  Wrong associates in business. Surround yourself with positive, successful and like minded people.

17)  Wrong career choice. It is important that you like what you are doing.

18)  Lack of focus. If you chase every rabbit down every hole you won’t catch any rabbits!

19)  Lack of financial wisdom. A spendthrift cannot succeed.

20)  No passion. Passion comes across in your level of enthusiasm. Very important.

21)  Lack of tolerance. Do not be closed minded.

22)  Lack of moderation. Over indulging in anything is not sustainable. Examples are over eating or drinking too much.

23)  Lack people skills. Develop your skills so that you work well with others.

24)  Inherited position or wealth. “Quick riches can be more dangerous than poverty”. This will depend on the upbringing of the inheritor.

25)  Ego. Being an egotist can be fatal to success.

26)  Dishonesty. We have a saying, “A thief will never prosper”. It is a rule!

27)  Don’t guess, think! Acquire facts. Don’t act on opinions.

28)  Lack of funds. Have sufficient capital to absorb the initial growth period of your business, to carry your overheads until you are showing a profit.

I suggest that you go through this list with a close friend or family member. Ask them to be honest and be receptive to their feedback. Quite often we don’t see ourselves as others see us.

This is NOT designed to make you feel badly, but rather, to encourage you to shake off any encumbrances and step into your destiny!

Desire, The Starting Point Of All Achievement For Online Entrepreneurs

Every person who reaches a stage in life where they understand the purpose of money, wants to possess it! However, wishing will not bring riches.

Desire for riches, coupled with a state of mind unto obsession, followed by definite means to acquire wealth, backed by persistence, ignoring failure…now this brings riches.

There are six ways in which we can transform our desires into wealth.

1)      Decide on an exact amount of money that you want to make. Be definite. This is very important.

2)      Decide what you intend to give in return for the money that you want to earn. (Remember here that there is no such thing as “something for nothing”)

3)      Write down a date by which you intend to have this amount.

4)      Create a definite plan and begin implementing immediately. Whether you consider yourself ready or not, take action NOW!

5)      Write out your goals. Clearly state the amount of money you intend to acquire, the time frame in which you intend to make it, what you will give in return, and the plan through which you will make it happen.

6)      Read this statement aloud two times a day, as you wake up in the mornings and just prior to going to bed in the evenings. As you read, see, feel and believe yourself as already being in possession of the money.

Follow these instructions in the exact order outlined above. The most important of these steps, is step number 6. If you TRULY desire wealth to the point where it becomes an obsession, you will find it very easy to convince yourself that you WILL acquire it.

Here is where the burning desire is created

Adversity Is The Mother Of Invention

I was born in Hove, Sussex in the UK. At the age of 8 months, I got on a banana boat with my parents and our lovely Irish Setter dogs, and we set sail for the beautiful island of Jamaica, in the Caribbean.

I was educated in Jamaica, and because it was, “the thing to do” in Jamaica at the time, I was sent to boarding school. The school was thirty minutes drive away from our property, and the unique thing in my case, was that I was sent to, “Servite Convent” at the tender age of three!

I used to have to stand on a stool to make my bed. I learned at a very early age the importance of building relationships. Very quickly, I became the, “pet” of a few select authoritarian figures in the school.

I came home on weekends and still remember standing at the fence on Friday afternoons after school, looking out for the sky blue Peugeot that collected me. It belonged to the leading veterinarian in the parish. He would come for me after tending to animals all day, and take me to my farm as it was on the way to his house.

My dad, God bless him, used to take me back to school on Sundays. We had some amazing conversations. I was the last of three children born to my parents, and my older siblings were 8 and 10 years my senior. They had gone off to boarding school in England, (which they later begged my parents not to do to me) and I think my parents thought they were doing me a favor by sending me to this school where there would be other children of my age and circumstance.

This continued for the next seven years until I was ten.

Then I went to Kingston, and completed high school. After that I went to Toronto, Canada and obtained a BSc degree there.

It was at this time that my world seemed to me to be falling apart. In a period of two years, my dad died, my mother suffered a massive stroke, (thankfully she survived, and is with us to this day..25 years later), and my fiancé left Jamaica. I refused to leave my mother and the responsibility of the family estate, so that was just not meant to be.

This story has a happy ending as soon after this I met the man who would become my loving husband and the father of my three beautiful children. I thank God for bringing him into my life. I am very happy, work out of my home and am always surrounded by my wonderful family. Life is sweet.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well firstly I want to share it with you. I also hope to show you that the issues that we face in life, that often seem insurmountable, very often contribute to strengthening us. They cause us to become people who will push through obstacles toward success.

Adversity is the mother of invention. I never spent a lot of time with my parents as a child. As a result, I was determined to design my life with that as a focus. I love being around my kids, while at the same time, securing their financial future.

If you have lost a job, or you have one but want to spend more time with your family, there is something that you can do! The first thing you need to do is adjust your mindset.
